Dr. Theodore (Ted) Granovsky, 81, who grew up in St. Anthony Park and graduated from Murray High School. in 1963, died May 21, 2026. At the time of his death, he was living in Bryan, Texas.
For more than five decades, he devoted his career to advancing urban and industrial entomology through practical research, professional training and industry service.
He taught university courses in urban entomology and stored product entomology and helped create bilingual applicator training materials used internationally through cooperative efforts with USAID programs.
In 1984, he founded Granovsky Associates, where he provided pest control guidance in food processing facilities, hospitals, grain operations and numerous other industries. He also continued to reach pest management professionals across the United States and internationally through seminars and educational programs.
Ted was predeceased by parents, Dr. Alexander A. Granovsky and Irene; siblings: Alexandra (Sandra) Armstrong, Robert (Bob) Granovsky (former St. Anthony Park resident) and Natalie Gnauch.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Claudia Granovsky; ex-wife, Nancy Lammi Granovsky; brother, Phillip Granovsky; niece, Tania Hueg, Roseville; nephew, Mark Granovsky, Lake Elmo, Minnesota; and nephew Paul (Jenny) Granovsky, St. Anthony Park.
