Illumination: Author talk
1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31. Minnesota authors talk about their work in the “Saint Paul Almanac Volume 14: Illumination,” an anthology of prose and poetry. Stories by Wendy Brown-Báez, Tara Flaherty Guy, Mike Hazard, Raymond Luczak, John Medeiros, Sara Wilcox and Kenneth Vigne highlight the tenacity, grit, pleasure and grace of the human experience. Coffee and cake will be served.
Lantern-making workshop
2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7. All-age workshop. Lantern-making supplies will be provided.
Precious and Adored book club

.m. on Monday, Feb. 23. In partnership with the Minnesota History Center, the library will host a book club di
scussion of “Precious and Adored” by Lizzie Ehrenhalt and Tilly Laskey.
The book explores correspondence between Rose Cleveland, sister of President Grover Cleveland, and Evangeline Simpson, a wealthy widow who later became the second wife of Minnesota Episcopal Bishop Henry Whipple. Their letters offer insight into social life and personal relationships in the late 19th century.
Participants receive a copy of the book and two passes to the MNHS exhibit “The Stories We Keep,” featuring 25 objects from MNHS collections. Register at sppl.bibliocommons.com/events/68daf23c4448c416641ce18e.

10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Feb. 12. Drop-in session co-hosted by St. Anthony Park Area Seniors. Bring your own supplies to knit, crochet, embroider, and socialize.
Thursday forum

Paw Pals: Read with Enzo

Mystery Loves Company book club
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Read any book under the February theme of snowy settings and share with the group.
Literary Bridges
10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21. Literary Bridges meets a few times a year to highlight writing by local authors. Hear guest authors read from their works and share your own during the open mic. Authors may present work in any stage of the writing process.
Crafting teens
4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Teens ages 12–18 are welcome to drop in, hang out and create. There will be new crafting fun every week.
