New E Line transit to south St. Anthony Park
A new major Metro transit bus connection has arrived in south St. Anthony Park.
In early December, Metro Transit launched the E Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service, offering a fast, reliable one-seat ride from Westgate Station all the way to Southdale.
The new rapid bus service makes key stops at the University of Minnesota East Bank campus, downtown Minneapolis, Uptown, Bde Maka Ska, Linden Hills, 50th & France and more.
The Westgate E Line stop is located on the north side of University Avenue at Berry Street, between the two halves of the Green Line’s Westgate Station. This connection makes it easier for riders to reach major destinations across Minneapolis and Edina without needing a transfer.
The E Line is Metro Transit’s eighth BRT route, and notably the third launched in 2025. With its introduction, an estimated 117,000 people now live within a half-mile of the E Line, and roughly 16% of the region’s population lives within a half-mile of a BRT route.
BRT service differs from local bus routes: riders pay before boarding, can enter through any of the three doors, and benefit from bus-only lanes and signal priority along parts of the route — all of which help keep travel times fast and predictable.
District 12 annual meeting and election results
More than 80 neighbors gathered in November at the Zvago Cooperative Housing for District 12’s 2025 annual meeting.
This year’s theme, “50 Years of Community Engagement,” honored the long history of neighbors shaping the future of St. Anthony Park. The program featured a year-in-review presentation, committee updates and remarks from Ward 4 City Council member Molly Coleman and Ramsey County Commissioner Garrison McMurtrey.
After the presentations, community residents elected representatives to the District 12 council. All candidates on the ballot for the 2025–2027 terms were elected. They are:

Meanwhile, other people serving on the District 12 board are: Scott Jensen, Melissa Pappas, Joy Gerdes, John Maurer and Rafael Roman.
