Holiday Closings
All St. Paul Public Libraries will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, in recognition of the Christmas holiday.
All libraries will also close early at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and be closed all day on Thursday, Jan. 1, in recognition of the New Year’s Day holiday.
Adult Book Club
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec.1. Join us in the lower-level auditorium for conversation and refreshments. Call the library at 651-642-0411 to find out the December book selection.
English conversation circle for adults
4 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18. Join the University of Minnesota Retirees Volunteer Center and the Partners in English program for free English practice taking place in the library’s lower level auditorium. All levels of English language skill are welcome.
Shake your sillies out! playtime
10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19, and on Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13, in the lower-level auditorium.
This early childhood playtime for children ages 5 and under with their caregivers includes stories and movement to foster a love for books and make new friends. Adults must remain with their children for the entire session.
Handiwork @your library
10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Dec. 11. Knit, crochet, embroider and socialize with your neighbors. All ages welcome. Bring your own supplies. This program is co-hosted by the St. Paul Public Library and the St Anthony Park Area Seniors.
SAPBLA forum
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11. The St. Anthony Park Branch Library Association’s monthly community forum is co-hosted by the St. Anthony Park Library and SAPBLA. See the SAPBLA’s website for the December topic: sapbla.org.
Paw Pals: Read with Enzo
10:15 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Youth ages 5 to 12 can read to Enzo, a friendly dog who loves to sit and listen to stories.
You’ll find Enzo between the Science Fiction and Language Learning areas in the adult section of the library. Advance registration required for a single reading session (maximum of 15 minutes to allot time for others) by calling the library at 651-642-0411 or emailing [email protected].
Financial literacy @ your library!
2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. For details on the December financial educational topic, visit the library or Sunrise Banks, 2300 Como Ave. This program is co-hosted by the SAPL and Sunrise Banks.
