St. Paul mayoral candidate forum
The League of Women Voters of St. Paul (LWVSP) will hold a St, Paul mayoral candidates forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Johnson High School, 1349 Arcade St., St. Paul.
The free forum also will be live-streamed on the Saint Paul Neighborhood Network’s (SPNN) YouTube channel. It will enable the public to hear directly from the candidates as they present their vision for St. Paul mayor.
The forum moderator will ask policy questions, some prepared in advance and some submitted by the public. Citizens who wish to submit a question prior to the forum can send their queries to [email protected].
At Luther—Smithsonian’s “Human Origins” exhibit
From now through mid-November, Luther Seminary is hosting the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit “Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human?”
The free exhibit, at the Olson Campus Center, encourages a public conversation on multiple perspectives and fostering greater appreciation of the complex science of human evolution.
The seminary, 1490 Fulham St., is also seeking volunteers to serve as exhibit docents. This is a flexible opportunity—take on as many shifts as you like. Complete the volunteer interest form to learn more and indicate your interest.

Healthy Aging Month programs
The University of Minnesota Extension Department of Family, Health and Wellbeing will hold a series of programs in September designed to help older people with healthy aging.
Topics include, among other things, health care directives, aging in place, medicine cabinet safety, healthy eating for older adults and clean energy as we age. For further information, visit z.umn.edu/HAM2025.

International Institute’s breakfast circle
The International Institute of Minnesota has scheduled a free breakfast circle session from 8:45 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 on “Responding to the Moment: The Institute’s Educational Solutions for Changing Times.”
After attending the session, attendees will be able to, among other things, identify key shifts in federal adult education and immigration policies related to education.
