Ice Cream Social, July 10

Every year, the District 10 Como Community Council plans an ice cream social featuring free ice cream, live music, meet-and-greets with neighborhood organizations and activities for children and families.

This year’s event is in the evening of Friday, July 10, at the Historic Streetcar Station in Como Park, 1224 Lexington Parkway N. Because parking is limited, we encourage community members to walk, bike, roll, carpool or take public transportation.

This event still needs volunteers. If you’re interested in helping plan or volunteering at the event you can fill out our volunteer interest form, come to our July 1 meeting or reach out to [email protected].

2026 Lake Como Cleanups

Join us for our 2026 Lake Como cleanups. These events, in partnership with the Capitol Region Watershed District, focus on the shoreline and Lake Como itself.

District 10 provides volunteer t-shirts, trash-grabbers, rakes, buckets, nets, trash bags and nitrile gloves for those who need them. Or, feel free to provide your own gear. Registration is not required, but it helps us plan and communicate if changes come up. Our 2026 cleanup dates are scheduled for:

• 5–8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21
• 9 a.m.–noon Saturday, Sept. 19

Neighborhood Cleanup Kits and Block Party Recycling

The District 10 Como Community Council offers neighborhood cleanup kits for community members or organizations to borrow to lead their own cleanup events. Each kit includes:

• 15 trash grabbers
• 15 high-visibility vests
• Bags and gloves

Plan a cleanup in your neighborhood, even if it’s just your own household, or add one to your annual block party this summer. Get outside and pitch in to keep your neighborhood beautiful.

The District 10 office also has recycling and compost stands and street barricades that can be borrowed for events and block parties.

District 10 meetings are hybrid on Zoom and at the Como Streetcar Station, 1224 Lexington Parkway. You can find meeting details at District10ComoPark.org.
