District 10
New Front Avenue Community Crawl
The Como Community Council is hosting a new event this spring. Whether you come with neighbors or come to meet new ones. We’d love to see you there!
Details are still coming together, but District 10 is planning to activate several spaces around the Front/Chatsworth street intersection on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Enjoy family activities, connect with local organizations, and join your neighbors for fun and games. This free event is open to all. For updates, visit District10ComoPark.org/SD4Event.
Community garage sale coming
District 10 is again coordinating a communitywide garage sale from Thursday, May 14, to Sunday, May 17.
Please sign up by May 11 if you wish to be included in District 10’s map of its community-wide garage sale locations. For further information and to sign up, visit District10ComoPark.org/GarageSale.
Participating for District 10
Did you miss your chance to join the District 10 board in April? Good news—there are plenty of other ways to get involved.
District 10 has made a concerted effort over the last few years to knock down the barriers to participating with us in meaningful ways.
Many of District 10’s most recognizable initiatives—lake cleanups, Know Your Como stories, Como Community Garden and the Neighborhood History project—were championed, if not entirely run, by folks who aren’t on our board of directors.
You don’t need to wait for our next annual election to jump into one of our initiatives, help us plan our community events or, if you’re willing to put in the leg-work, champion your own initiative.
To learn more about getting involved in the Como community, please contact District 10 staff at [email protected], or attend a monthly board meeting.
