The St. Anthony Park Community Foundation is accepting nominations for its annual Michael Brasel Spirit of the Park award.
“Each year the community nominates someone who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the St. Anthony Park community,” Foundation Executive Director Julie Drechsler said in a news statement.
The Spirit of the Park award was recently renamed in honor of Brasel, a well-known SAP resident and youth hockey coach who was murdered in early May 2023 trying to thwart a car robbery in front of his home.
The foundation will collect nominations through May 15 and the Spirit of the Park award will be presented at the 4th in the Park celebration during the bandstand program.
The foundation is calling for community members to nominate an individual, group or community organization that helps make St. Anthony Park a better place to live, work and play.
“I think we will see more nominations than ever considering all of the community-led action to support those impacted by the ICE surge.
If you would like to nominate a neighbor, group or organization, complete a short nomination form at forms.gle/iWnCu6Jok
