Janet Carney, 91, died Sept. 16, 2025.

Janet was born to Frank and Gertrude Shypulski on Nov. 20, 1933 and was the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carney, in 1979. Janet and Don raised their children in St. Paul and she was a homemaker for most of her married life.

After Don’s passing, Janet moved into her childhood home near Como Park, where she lived until this year. Janet was funny and a joy to be around.

Janet was a faithful member of Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her four children, Patrick (Dee Dee) Carney, Kathleen (Keith) Hill, Colleen (Dale) Westerberg and Timothy (Denise) Carney; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
