SUMMARY:Nathan Hale Day
DESCRIPTION:The Nathan Hale Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is excited to announce installation and dedication of a historic marker in Nathan Hale Park. This granite memorial not only honors Hale and all the men and women who achieved American Independence but is also a commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation. \n  \nAll are welcome to attend the dedication ceremony on Saturday\, June 6\, 2026 in Nathan Hale Park (Summit & Portland\, Saint Paul) at 10 a.m. Learn about Captain Hale. Attenders at this free\, family-friendly event will receive their own U.S. flag. Kids will get Revolutionary Way spycraft kits. This event will usher in other local America 250! events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. \n  \nThe 36″ tall commemorative marker is a joint project of Nathan Hale Chapter DAR\, Ramsey Hill Association (RHA) and the Summit Avenue Residential Preservation Association (SARPA). Local citizens also donated funds for the project. \n  \n  \nNathan Hale (June 6\, 1755 – September 22\, 1776) was a Continental Army Captain from Connecticut during the war for American Independence. He was a schoolteacher turned patriot who volunteered to  spy on the British\, was captured\, and consequently hung. \n  \nHale is best remembered for his attributed last words before his execution: “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” Though the exact wording is debated\, his bravery made him an enduring symbol of patriotism and sacrifice in American history. \n  \nWhy is there a statue of Nathan Hale in Saint Paul\, Minnesota? \n  \nIn 1895\, when a group of Saint Paul ladies formed the Nathan Hale Chapter of the DAR\, they immediately began collecting money to erect an enduring tribute to the noble young hero whose name they chose for their Chapter. In 1907\, the Nathan Hale Chapter DAR donated the William Ordway Partridge statue to the City of Saint Paul. \n  \nNathan Hale Chapter DAR is a 100-member group that continues serving Saint Paul through historic preservation\, education and patriotism. \n  \nThe Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a nonprofit\, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal\, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. \n  \nThe history of the Nathan Hale Statue may be found here: https://www.nathanhalechapter.org/history/statue/ \n  \nHistoric photos of the Nathan Hale Statue available upon request.

SUMMARY:AMERICAN REVOLUTION EXPERIENCE TRAVELING EXHIBIT AT HISTORIC FORT SNELLING
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nFor Immediate Release                                                                                                    Contact: Karrie Blees \n06/19/2026                                                                                                                    Regent\, Nathan Hale Chapter DAR \nNathanHaleChapterRegent@gmail.com \n(612) 202-1378 \n  \nLOCAL DAR CHAPTERS HOST AMERICAN REVOLUTION EXPERIENCE TRAVELING EXHIBIT AT HISTORIC FORT SNELLING \n  \nInnovative Revolutionary War Exhibition is Collaborative Project of the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution \n  \nST PAUL\, MINNESOTA — The Minnesota State Society\, Fort Snelling Chapter\, and Nathan Hale Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are excited to announce the opening of the American Revolution Experience at Historic Fort Snelling on June 20. The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling\, illustration\, technology\, unique artifacts\, and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. Created through a collaboration between the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution\, the exhibit is also made possible by generous matching funds from the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program battlefield interpretation grants. \n  \nThe exhibit is free June 20 through July 1 at Historic Fort Snelling in Saint Paul\, Minnesota from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (admission to the historic fort requires a paid entrance ticket). \n  \nThe American Revolution Experience launched online in its first digital-only iteration during the summer of 2022 to rapid acclaim and received a Bronze Award in the Education\, Art\, & Culture division of the second annual Anthem Awards\, an initiative of the Webby Awards celebrating purpose and mission-driven work. It was also a finalist in the “People’s Choice” category of the Webbys themselves. \n  \n“The American Revolution would not have happened without the decisions\, sacrifices\, and valor of ordinary people\,” said DAR Honorary President General Pamela Rouse Wright. “DAR is honored to have collaborated with the American Battlefield Trust on this initiative to highlight some of our Patriots and their roles in the founding of this great country. We are thrilled for people in communities across the country to learn more about these individuals.” \n  \nThe traveling exhibit includes 12 panels highlighting thematic connections between profiled individuals and three interactive kiosks that connect to the full digital biographies\, provide documentary context on the Revolutionary War\, and offer information on how to visit the places tied to these individuals today. Both online and on-site\, the American Revolution Experience \nfeatures custom illustrations by South Carolina-based artist Dale Watson. The exhibit also draws from documents and objects in DAR’s collection\, as well as the Trust’s industry leading digital interpretation resources. \n  \n“Independence may have been declared in Philadelphia by the Declaration’s 56 signers\, but it was hard-won on the battlefields we protect by the thousands of Patriot soldiers from whom today’s Daughters trace descent\,” said Trust President David Duncan. “Together\, our organizations bear witness to the fact that we are not so far removed from those impactful events\, that there are meaningful ways to bridge those 250 years.” \n  \nFort Snelling is among the scores of libraries\, historical societies and museums that will host the American Revolution Experience through 2026\, introducing visitors to a cast of historical characters with diverse experiences throughout the conflict and the places they visited on their journey. A longer-term mounting of the exhibit will remain at DAR’s national headquarters in Washington\, D.C. Individual DAR chapters across the nation\, including Fort Snelling Chapter\, Nathan Hale Chapter\, and the Minnesota State Society\, have partnered with institutions in their communities to offer venues for the exhibit\, booking its current complement of copies to capacity; further inquiries will be placed on a waitlist. The touring calendar available at www.battlefields.org/ontour. \n  \nThe American Revolution Experience invites visitors to consider the choice faced by members of the revolutionary generation as tensions mounted in the 1770s: Would these ordinary citizens risk their lives and livelihoods in pursuit of liberty? Or would they remain loyal subjects of the British crown\, coming into conflict with neighbors and family? The exhibit surfaces diverse viewpoints and experiences\, touching on the journeys — both literal and figurative — of Patriots and Loyalists\, men and women\, Black and Native populations and even international allies. Rather than focusing only on generals and famous statesmen\, it introduces audiences to drummer boys\, military mapmakers and other ordinary people who were impacted by global events. \n  \nAbout the Organizations \nThe American Battlefield Trust has grown from a grassroots organization started by historians nearly 40 years ago into one of the most successful land preservation and education organizations in the nation. The Trust has protected almost 60\,000 acres associated with the Revolutionary War\, War of 1812 and Civil War\, representing 160 sites in 25 states from Massachusetts to New Mexico. Its 350\,000 members and supporters believe in the power of place and the continued relevance of our shared history to modern American society. Learn more at www.battlefields.org. \n  \nThe National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation\, education\, and patriotism. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With nearly 190\,000 members in approximately 3\,000 chapters worldwide\, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active \nservice organizations. https://www.dar.org/ \n  \nThe Fort Snelling Chapter DAR and Nathan Hale Chapter DAR were chartered more than 100 years ago in Hastings and in Saint Paul. Current membership in these two chapters is 150 with Daughters ranging in age from 18-96.
